May 2021 Skating Lessons – Beginner, Bronze and Silver

Our skating lessons are back!

Our aim is to get you to a point where you can skate confidently, forwards, backwards, stop, cross over and turn. At the end of the course, when you are ready, introduce you to some roller sports coaches that you may want to follow. These will be from Roller Derby, Hockey, Artistic, Freestyle, Speed Skating and Jamming.

You will receive a Rollerworld certificate upon completion of each award.

Additional Restrictions:

1. For our May lessons only under 18’s can skate due to the government restrictions.
2. A maximum of 1 adult per booking may accompany the lessons.
3. Under 14’s must be accompanied by an adult.
4. Adults must use a face mask at all times in the venue. Face shields are available to purchase for people who are unable to wear a mask.
5. Masks are optional when skating but will need to be worn by over 11 when entering the venue and when off the rink.
6. This is a group lesson with a max of 50 people on the rink at one time to allow social distancing.
7. Coaches will have hand sanitiser and face shields to be able to assist children on the rink.
8. Vending machines are available for food and drink.
9. Failure to follow these rules, being rude to staff or coaches will result in being removed from the lessons without a refund.

Lesson Times

• Arrival Time: 4:15pm
• Start Time: 4:30pm
• End Time: 5:15pm

This booking is for Beginners, Bronze and existing Silver skaters.

If you move up from silver to gold during the block of lessons you will need to attend the later gold & sport lesson times to continue.

• £50 for 4 lessons
• Lessons can not be bought individually
• Quad Skate Hire: £4

Bringing your own skates

We advise these lessons are for quad skaters.

We require skates to at minimum have Urethane (rubber feel not solid plastic) toe stops and bushings on the skates.

Plastic toe stops will make it a lot more difficult to learn a lot of moves and toe stopping and skates without bushings will not be able to turn.

Anyone who has unsuitable skates will be asked to use hire skates at £4 or the parts can be purchased from the DX skate shop on site.
